Through 1000 PM, the mesoanalysis products from the Storm Prediction Center indicate strong converging winds from the SFC through 10 thousand feet are in place across the Florida Keys. This pattern will maintain widespread showers and scattered thunderstorms across the Florida Keys for the next several hours. There appears to be three modes: a divergent, yet persistent broad band drifting north near the Tortugas, discrete cells pivoting north southeast of the Middle and Upper Keys, and a focused apex across the Upper Keys featuring torrential rainfall. Three hour totals in Key Largo are approaching 6 inches, and radar imagery suggests the heaviest rainfall will spread west into the Middle Keys as well. The movement of the discrete thunderstorms has slowed to 10 to 20 mph, so localized gusts likely will be limited to 30 to 35 mph.
