Coastal waters from the Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River to Port Fourchon Louisiana out 20 NM... * Until 1145 AM CDT. * At 1050 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from near Terrebonne Bay to near Isle Derniers, moving southeast at 10 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts 34 knots or greater, and small hail. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves. Make sure all on board are in a secure location and wearing life jackets.
