...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN CHICKASAW...
SOUTHEASTERN PONTOTOC...SOUTHERN LEE AND NORTHWESTERN MONROE COUNTIES
THROUGH 715 PM CDT...

At 651 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Troy, or 7 miles southwest of Verona, moving east at 55 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Tupelo, Verona, Okolona, Shannon, Furrs, New Wren, Troy, Nettleton,
Palmetto, Leotis, Old Union, and George P Cossar State Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for
northeastern Mississippi.
