.Discussion...
A weak, broad area of low pressure near the east coast of Florida
this morning will continue to move east-northeast today into the
western Atlantic and off the eastern coast of the US through late
week. Deep tropical moisture will continue to spread over the area
through late week, with scattered to numerous showers and lightning
storms being possible each day. Highest rain chances will be 70-90
percent areawide through Friday. Heavy rainfall will continue to be
the primary threat with these showers and storms. However, occasional
cloud to ground lightning strikes, which could trigger new fires, and
gusty winds that could cause control issues from any existing fires,
will also be possible with this activity. No min RH concerns. Drought
conditions will improve across areas that receive heavier rainfall.
Temperatures will be seasonable through late week, with afternoon
highs in the upper 80s to low 90s. Heat indices will range from 100 to
105 through Friday. Smoke dispersion values will be generally good
today and Friday.
Fog potential and other remarks...Widespread fog is not forecast.
Localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or existing
fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
