The National Weather Service in Omaha has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Western Monona County in west central Iowa...
  Eastern Thurston County in northeastern Nebraska...

* Until 745 PM CDT.

* At 706 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Whiting, or
  24 miles north of Tekamah, moving southeast at 15 mph.

  THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR northwest Monona county.

  HAZARD...Three inch hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated. At 655 PM, three inch hail was reported
           5 miles northwest of Whiting, IA.

  IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be severely injured.
           Expect shattered windows, extensive damage to roofs,
           siding, and vehicles.

* Locations impacted include...
  Onawa, Whiting, Turin, Lewis And Clark State Park, Kennebec, and
  Omaha Reservation.

This includes Interstate 29 between mile markers 107 and 125.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

This is a dangerous storm. Prepare immediately for large destructive
hail capable of producing significant damage. People outside should
move to shelter inside a strong building, and stay away from windows.
