.DISCUSSION...FOR EXTREME SOUTHWESTERN CALIFORNIA INCLUDING ORANGE...
SAN DIEGO...WESTERN RIVERSIDE AND SOUTHWESTERN SAN BERNARDINO
COUNTIES...

The 12z Miramar sounding showed a 12C degree inversion based near
1200 feet. Low clouds cover the coast and western valleys this
morning, but are starting to retreat towards the coast. The
strength of the inversion may prohibit clearing at the coast, but
a few peeks of sunshine will be possible this afternoon.

A 593 DM high is centered over the Southern High Plains today and
a 585 DM low is off the coast of southern Baja California. Hot
conditions will continue across inland areas, with highs topping
out 8-15 degrees above normal in the mountains and deserts, and
near, to up to 5 degrees above normal across the coast and
valleys. Moderate to high heat risk remains in the deserts as
highs top out around 109-112 in the lower deserts, and 100-105 in
the High Desert. A few degrees of cooling will reach the mountains
and deserts tomorrow.
