High pressure across the area will slowly exit into Minnesota by this evening. Winds will remain light again today, with relative humidity values falling into the 30 percent range. The driest air will be over north central South Dakota, where relative humidity in a few locations could drop closer to 25 percent. Mainly dry weather will remain, with only a 20 percent chance of light showers and thunderstorms over south central South Dakota. These chances for showers and thunderstorms will increase to around 30 percent and push eastward into parts of eastern South Dakota and west central Minnesota overnight tonight through Sunday morning, as a trough of low pressure nears from the west. Sunday afternoon and evening will bring increasing chances for precipitation, and a slight risk of severe weather, or level 2 on a scale of 5.
