610 FNUS53 KDLH 042013 FWFDLH Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Minnesota and NW Wisconsin National Weather Service Duluth MN 313 PM CDT Tue Jun 4 2024 .DISCUSSION... Showers and thunderstorms will develop ahead of a cold front today and then diminish from west to east tonight. Prior to the frontal passage, winds will be southerly with gusts of 20 to 25 mph. Rainfall amounts today and tonight will range from zero to a trace over portions of the Arrowhead and northwest Wisconsin to as much as 2 to 3 inches where the heaviest storms occur. A few severe storms will be possible as well with damaging wind and large hail. Winds will turn westerly behind the front. Westerly winds will continue behind the front and they will increase on Wednesday with gusts of 20 to 30 mph. More showers and a few thunderstorms will redevelop Wednesday, especially in the afternoon and over northern Minnesota. There will be periodic showers Thursday through the weekend, with the greatest rain chances during the afternoon and evening hours.
