Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
228 AM CDT Wed Jun 12 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Fire weather concerns are low the next seven days. This afternoon,
a few storms are possible over the Guadalupe Mountains, Sacramento
Foothills, and Davis Mountains, where lightning could pose concern
for fire starts, lending to increased IA potential. Erratic gusty
winds are possible near any storms, but fortunately outside of
storms, 20ft winds will be light. Critical RHs will be confined to
far western areas through Friday, expanding eastward beginning
Saturday as temperatures warm further, though light 20ft winds for
the duration mitigate fire weather concerns. Recovery will be fair
to good west, and good to very good east through the weekend.

Matrix product issued by the Midland/Odessa National Weather
Service Office.
