829 FNUS54 KMAF 111908 FWFMAF Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX 208 PM CDT Tue Jun 11 2024 .DISCUSSION... There will be a low fire weather threat through the end of the week. Any IA fire should be well handled thanks to light winds. Hotter and drier air arrives this weekend that will elevate the threat for fire starts, but again light to modest winds will limit the potential for spread. Other than hot temperatures, the next seven days may provide good conditions for controlled burning. Overnight recovery should be fair to good. && For point-specific forecasts please see the Point Fire Weather Matrix product issued by the Midland/Odessa National Weather Service Office.
