Sensitive fire weather conditions will persist through this week, with little relief to drought conditions forecast. A high pressure ridge over the western Atlantic will keep its ridge axis near to the local area through mid-week, maintaining onshore flow and leading to a sea breeze collision generally over the western side of the peninsula through the period. PoPs 20-40%, mainly over the interior through Tuesday. Will see PoPs increase to around 50% on Wednesday, though widespread beneficial rainfall looks unlikely, given the scattered coverage of showers and thunderstorms forecast. Meanwhile, temperatures will continue to climb each day, once again reaching the lower to mid-90s by mid-week. Temperatures are forecast to reach the upper 90s by the end of the work week. Onshore flow will be enhanced by the sea breeze each afternoon, becoming around 10-15mph. Min RH around 45% or higher today will become 40-45% Tuesday and Wednesday over the interior, with higher values along the coast. Good to excellent dispersion will persist each afternoon. Daily rain and thunderstorm chances will continue through the weekend. While some areas could see wetting rainfall, enough precipitation to relieve the current drought conditions is not forecast. Fog potential and other remarks...Widespread fog is not forecast. Localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or existing fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
