Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest and South-Central
Arizona and Southeast California
National Weather Service Phoenix AZ
340 PM MST Thu Jun 6 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Hot and dry conditions will continue to support high fire danger
across the area. Isolated dry thunderstorms over the White
Mountains, Mogollon Rim, and in the vicinity of the far eastern
districts could lead to increased risk of lightning-related fire
starts through the remainder of today and on Friday, but dry
thunder chances within our eastern districts remain below 10
percent. Well above normal temperatures are forecast through
Friday with highs at or just above 110 degrees for a good portion
of the lower deserts before a gradual cooldown starting Saturday.
Winds will generally favor diurnal tendencies with speeds below
15 mph and occasional afternoon breezes between 20-25 mph. MinRH
values will hover around 10%, with poor to fair overnight
recoveries as MaxRHs range between 20-40%.
