This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Very hot temperatures expect for portions of the plains, and
especially for El Paso County and within the lower Arkansas River
Valley, where there could be values that reach or exceed 105
degrees. Be sure to drink plenty of water and avoid strenuous
outdoor activities!

Isolated thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon and evening,
mainly over El Paso County and the far eastern plains. A few severe
storms will also be possible over the far easter plains later this
evening, with the highest probability of occurrence over Kiowa
County. Main threat with general thunderstorms will be gusty outflow
winds approaching 60 mph, and with severe storms, wind gusts may
reach 70 mph with hail up to ping pong size in diameter, as well as
dangerous lightning and brief heavy rainfall.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

Thunderstorms are expected to develop over the mountains during
the early afternoon on Friday and reach the Kansas border by the
late evening. When the storms move over the plains they will
intensify leading to the main risks being wind gusts ranging from
50 to 65 mph, heavy rain, and lightning, but there will be a
chance for isolated storms having 1" hail. Very hot temperatures
return early next week.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will
be possible over portions of the region.
