...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...

In 1951, A massive hailstorm struck from Wallace to Kearney Counties
in Kansas, causing 6 million dollars worth of damage to crops.

In 2003, the temperature soared to 104 degrees in Goodland Kansas, a
record for the month of May and the earliest in the year the
temperature had ever reached triple digits at that location.

In 2007, a large complex of thunderstorms produced widespread strong
to damaging winds across much of the Tri state area. Wind gusts to
80 mph damaged a large grain bin and snapped four utility poles
southwest of Eckley Colorado.
