  Waters from Surf City to Cape Fear NC from 20 to 40 nm...

* Until 345 AM EDT.

* At 326 AM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located between Topsail
  Boxcars and the waters east of W R 2, moving northeast at 25 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts to 45 knots and frequent cloud to sea
           lightning.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
           suddenly higher waves.

* The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
If caught on the open water, prepare for deteriorating conditions.
