...The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities has issued a
Flood Warning for the following rivers in Minnesota...
Minnesota River at Mankato affecting Nicollet and Blue Earth
Counties.
...Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity and
increased in duration for the following rivers in Minnesota...
Cottonwood River at New Ulm affecting Brown County.
Minnesota River at Henderson MN19 affecting Le Sueur, Scott and
Sibley Counties.
.Recent heavy rainfall combined with the forecast of additional rain
and high soil moisture will produce additional rises on area rivers.
Thunderstorms are expected later today and another round of
significant rainfall is possible at the end of the week.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Minnesota River at Mankato.
* WHEN...From Wednesday evening to late Monday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 24.5 feet, HWY 99 east of St Peter closed (estimated
level for spring floods)
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 930 AM CDT Tuesday, the stage was 18.2 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
tomorrow evening to a crest of 24.5 feet early Friday
afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Sunday
afternoon.
- Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
24.6 feet on 06/26/1984.

* IMPACTS...At 13.1 feet, Flood waters begin to impact Cottonwood
Street west of the river.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1000 AM CDT Tuesday, the stage was 10.6 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
this afternoon to a crest of 14.0 feet Thursday morning. It
will then fall below flood stage early Sunday morning.
- Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
13.9 feet on 03/14/2007.

- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late this afternoon and continue rising to a crest of 736.9
feet early Saturday afternoon.
