...Discussion from Monterey...

Well above average inland temperatures continue today, while
coastal areas remain cool. Overnight and morning humidity recoveries
are good across the valleys, but remain modest to poor across the
interior mountains. A more notable cool down is expected Friday and
into the weekend as onshore flow returns. However, inland areas
will still remain on the warmer and dry side.

Note : All winds are 20-foot Winds Unless otherwise specified.
Thunderstorms imply strong, gusty and erratic winds.

...Discussion from Los Angeles/Oxnard...

Very warm and dry conditions will persist across interior sections
today with cooler conditions west of the mountains, due to a
continued marine influence. Moderate to strong onshore flow can be
expected today with gusty southwesterly winds across the mountains
and deserts. Given the winds, warm temperatures and dry conditions,
the risk of grass fires will be heightened across interior
sections, especially the Antelope Valley.

For Friday through the weekend, cooler conditions are anticipated as
the upper level high pressure weakens. Moderate to strong onshore
flow will result in a deeper, and more extensive, marine layer from
the mountains westward. Also, this onshore push will continue to
generate gusty southwesterly winds across interior sections each
afternoon and evening.
