Hot and sensitive fire weather conditions due to drought continue today, then increasing moisture and rain chances through the week bring gradual improvement. The initial moisture increase this afternoon will produce higher cloud cover and slightly lower temperatures, resulting in min RHs 50 pct or higher except north of I-4 at 35-40 pct. That said, afternoon highs remain well into the 90s with peak heat indices 100-107. Rain this afternoon 30-50 pct along and north of I-4 and 50-70 pct to the south with occasional to frequent lightning. Winds SW-S favor the WCSB, reaching well into ECFL as the ECSB stays pinned close to the coast. Tuesday, rounds of showers and storms expected through the day with rain chances 80 pct areawide. Storms will be capable of occasional to frequent cloud to ground lightning. Min RHs improve to 60 pct or higher. Winds shift from the SW-SSW at 5-10 mph to S-SSE at 10-15 mph through the day. Not expecting a meaningful sea breeze development due to high cloud cover. Afternoon highs mostly in the M-U80s, up to around 90 in far northern Lake and Volusia. Fog potential and other remarks...Widespread fog is not forecast. Localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or existing fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
