High pressure will be over the region this evening with chilly
temperatures expected. Overnight lows will range from zero to the
single digits above zero west of the Missouri River with temperatures
in the single digits to teens below zero east of the Missouri River,
coldest in the James River Valley. The coldest wind chills of teens
and twenties below zero will lie in the James River Valley and
eastward. Winds will switch southerly with temperatures rising after
midnight.

Gusty downsloping winds over and along the eastern slopes of the
Sisseton Hills expected Thursday morning through Thursday afternoon
with gusts potentially over 40 mph. This may create areas of blowing
and drifting snow. These winds will diminish Thursday evening.
Otherwise, dry weather expected with warmer temperatures ranging in
the mid 20s to the upper 30s, warmest over south central SD. Snow
chances of 20 to 40 percent return Friday and Saturday through early
next week as more weather systems have the potential to move through
the region. Temperatures will swing back and forth from near average
to below average during this time.
