Radio Weather Synopsis
National Weather Service Aberdeen SD
416 AM CST Mon Nov 17 2025 /316 AM MST Mon Nov 17 2025/

A storm system tracking to our south today through Tuesday will
bring mainly rain to the listening area starting around the midday
over south central South Dakota with rain spreading north and
northeastward across the listening area through Tuesday morning.
Temperatures near the surface and aloft hovering near freezing will
result in a difficult forecast for northeastern South Dakota and
western Minnesota, where rain will transition to a rain and snow mix
or all snow late tonight into Tuesday morning. A heavier band of
precipitation may set up over this area, and slightly colder air
could result in a quick burst of snow with brief slippery or slushy
roadways around the Tuesday morning commute over and east of the
Sisseton Hills. Any accumulating snow will mainly stay over grassy or
elevated surfaces, with amounts around an inch or less. However,
higher amounts could be possible if rain transitions to snow faster
or if we heave a moderate to heavier snow band setup over this area.
The last of the precipitation will exit our southeastern listening
area by Tuesday morning with dry conditions expected through
Wednesday.

Highs for today will range in the 40s to the lower 50s with overnight
lows in the upper 20s to the lower 30s. Cooler for Tuesday with highs
in the upper 30s to the upper 40s.
