.SHORT TERM...

A weak cold front should be located across the Panhandles to start
the day today with northerly winds in its wake. The front will start
to mix out by the afternoon hours as highs climb into the mid 60s to
the north with mid 70s across the south. Breezy southwest winds
tonight through the day on Tuesday will aid in increasing WAA at
H850 and temperatures will increase up to the low 20s Celsius by the
afternoon. This extraordinarily warm air mass will lead to
temperatures rising to near record levels on Tuesday afternoon, with
forecast highs in the mid 80s. The breezy winds will decrease on
Tuesday night.

Mainly zonal H300 flow is expected across the southern High Plains
late this week into next weekend. This pattern will lead to
temperatures remaining above average along with persistent dry
conditions. Breezy west winds are forecast on Thursday before a weak
cold front shifts winds to out of the north during the afternoon
into the evening hours. Before the front arrives, highs in the mid
70s north to mid 80s south are expected. Upper level broad scale
troughing develops east of the forecast area by the weekend which
will aid in keeping temperatures cooler, but slightly above
average.

VFR conditions will continue over the next 24 hours. Winds will
rotate clockwise during this TAF cycle with winds becoming
northerly behind a front with occasional gusts. Winds will switch
to out of the east to south towards the later half of this TAF
issuance. Clear skies will prevail.
