.DISCUSSION...Relative humidity values increase ahead of a cold
front approaching South Texas. Minimum RH values of 45-70% are
expected in the coastal counties, in the 40s along I-69C, and
25-40% in Zapata, Jim Hogg, and Starr counties. South-
southeasterly winds are expected to remain less than 10 kts aloft,
but gusts along the Rio Grande to 20 kts at the surface are
possible this afternoon. This slight increase in humidity and
light winds precludes issuance of any Statements, but caution
should continue to be exercised as fuels remain dry to critically
dry across the region. Thunderstorms along the coast are possible
late today (following sunset) ahead of the cold front, which will
pass overnight, leaving drier air in its wake Sunday.
