Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
404 AM EDT Wed Jun 19 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Dry conditions with seasonable temperatures and below normal
moisture continues through Thursday. Moisture begins to increase
Friday into the weekend with the return of diurnally-driven
chances for showers and thunderstorms. Rain potential will first
favor the southeastern portion of the area through Saturday,
then is expected to expand to cover all of the Midlands and CSRA
Sunday into early next week. Winds will continue to be out of the
east through Friday, gusty at times during the afternoon hours of
peak heating. A more southeast to southwest component then develops
for the weekend. Daytime humidity minimums generally remain around
40 percent.

Fog potential for tonight: Patchy fog is possible mainly near
area lakes and rivers.
