The first supercell began to take shape near Beeville around 5:45 PM with the second supercell forming around the same time just north of San Diego. The third supercell rapidly intensified just north of Baffin Bay around 6:25 PM. These storms all tracked southeast with hail of at least baseball size (2.75 inches in diameter) and winds of up to 70 mph. The northern-most supercell caused the most significant damage and tracked from near Sinton southeast through Taft, Gregory, Portland, and Ingleside before moving out onto Mustang Island. Widespread wind-driven hail damage was observed throughout this area, shattering windows in countless homes, vehicles, and businesses, causing significant roof and siding damage, and stripping vegetation from trees. Several videos also depicted gustnadoes along the leading edge of strong winds. All damage was found to be consistent with straight-line winds of around 70 mph and/or extremely large hail. ...HAIL REPORTS...
