Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service State College PA
602 AM EST Sat Dec 6 2025

Mostly cloudy and not as cold to start the first weekend of
December. High temperatures today will be close to the historical
average ranging from the low 30s in the northern Alleghenies to
the low 40s in the Philadelphia metro area.

Light snow and flurries will develop to the southeast of Lake
Erie this afternoon and expand over the Allegheny Plateau before
spilling down into the Laurel Highlands later this afternoon into
the early evening. Little to no snow accumulation is expected.

Tonight will be partly to mostly cloudy with minimum temperatures
in the 20s.

Light snow accumulation is likely to result in winter driving
conditions across the northwest Alleghenies and Laurel Highlands
Sunday afternoon through Sunday evening. 1 to 2 inches of snow is
probable in the far northwest part of the Keystone state and may
cause minor travel impacts particularly near the Interstate 90
corridor.

High temperatures on Sunday will be very similar to today.

Arctic air will build into the Commonwealth Sunday night through
Monday night. The period from Monday night into Tuesday morning
will be bitter cold to frigid with minimum temperatures in the
single digits and low teens.

A cold weather pattern reinforced by more arctic intrusions will
support below average temperatures into mid-December. Several
quick moving disturbances tracking east of the Rockies will bring
opportunities for snow between from Tuesday into the next weekend.
