Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service State College PA
532 AM EST Thu Dec 11 2025

Deepening cold air blowing southeast across the relatively warmer
waters of the Great Lakes will bring a 24 hour period of upslope
and lake effect snow showers. Some of the snow will fall heavy at
times across portions of Northern and Western Pennsylvania, where
Lake Effect Snow Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories are in
effect today into tonight.

Some of the long, narrow bands of lake effect snow will reach the
Lower and Mid Susquehanna Valley and could bring a quick coating
to one inch of snow.

Northwest winds gusts between 35 and 45 mph today. The wind will
add a significant bite to this cold air outbreak with wind chills
only recovering to the upper single digits today across the
northern and western mountains, with teens to low 20s elsewhere.

Highs this afternoon will range from the lower 20s across the
Northwest Mountains and Laurel Highlands to the low 30s across
much of Southeastern PA and the Lower Susquehanna Valley. Lows
tonight will dip into the teens over much of the northwest half of
the state and settle into the low 20s for the Southern Valleys of
Pennsylvania.
