This pair of fronts will move quickly to the east today and push across Pennsylvania tonight, preceded and accompanied by some showers. Rainfall amounts will range from 1 to 2 tenths of an inch across the Southeastern Half of the state to between 3 and 5 tenths over the Northwest half of Pennsylvania. High temperatures this afternoon will be mainly in the lower to mid 50s over the northern mountains and upper 50s to low 60s throughout the valleys of central and southern PA. Lows tonight will be well above normal, ranging from the upper 30s to low 40s across the Northwest third of the state, to the upper 40s and low 50s near and to the south of the Interstate 81 corridor. The showers will end early Saturday with the daylight hours featuring dry conditions with a mix of sun and clouds and a light to moderate west to northwest breeze. Temperatures will rebound to slightly above normal values across the northern tier of Pennsylvania to between 8 and 10 degrees above normal in the Central and Southern Valleys, or between 50 and 65 from north to south. During the day Sunday, low pressure moving northeast from the central Great Plains, will push a strong cold front across the state, followed by the coldest air of the season on Monday with lake effect an upslope snow showers bringing up to a few inches of snow accumulation across the Northwest Mountains and Laurel Highlands and the first flakes of snow flying across the Central Ridge and Valley region of the state. $$
