At 713 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking thunderstorms along a line extending from 8 miles north of Mitchell to near Redington. Movement was northeast at 50 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. Cold air funnels may develop, but are not anticipated to reach the ground. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Scottsbluff, Alliance, Gering, Bridgeport, Bayard, Terrytown, Minatare, Hemingford, Melbeta, McGrew, Northport, Lake Minatare State Recreation Area, Angora, Morrill County Fairgrounds, Chimney Rock National Historic Site, Box Butte County Fairgrounds, Berea, Flahertys Corner, Alliance Municipal Airport, and Lake Alice Number 2. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Conditions are favorable for the development of weak, brief funnel clouds. This type of funnel cloud is harmless, but on rare occasions they can briefly touch down, producing wind gusts over 50 mph.
