...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall may be possible.

* WHERE...In Minnesota, Northern Cook and Lake County. This also
  includes the Boundary Waters eastern and central area.

* WHEN...Through Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Showers and thunderstorms are expected to bring heavy rain
    today, with localized areas receiving up to 1 to 3 inches of
    rain. This will fall on top of already saturated soils and
    rivers with normal to above normal streamflow. The heaviest
    rain is expected early this morning and through the day
    today.
  - Flood safety information can be found at
    www.weather.gov/safety/flood.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Portage and hiking trails may become slick and potentially
impassable and ponding of water could inundate low-lying campsites
across the Boundary Waters.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...In Minnesota, in north central Minnesota, Koochiching,
  North Cass and Itasca Counties. In northeast Minnesota, central
  and northern St. Louis County. This includes the Tribal Lands of
  the Bois Forte Band, Nett Lake, Deer Creek and, Lake Vermilion
  areas. Recreation spots such as Voyageurs National Park. This also
  includes the Boundary Waters western area.

* WHEN...Through Wednesday morning.
