.SHORT TERM...
(Tonight through Tuesday night)
Issued at 1200 PM CST Mon Dec 8 2025

Surface high pressure will lead to cooler temperatures for the start
of the week, particularly over the northeastern portions of South
Central Texas on Monday. After a much colder start to the day,
afternoon temperatures should warm into the 60s for most, but some
spots, primarily Burnet, Williamson, and Lee Counties will struggle
to get out of the 50s today, despite full sunshine. High pressure
will slide east tonight, but despite its departure, it will still be
rather cool with strong radiational cooling expected Tuesday
morning. Some locations will flirt with the freezing mark again, but
most areas will likely dip into the mid to upper 30s. Tuesday will
be warmer as southwesterly surface flow ramps up on the backside of
the departing surface high with continued dry weather.

&&

.LONG TERM...
(Wednesday through next Monday)
Issued at 1200 PM CST Mon Dec 8 2025

Much warmer temperatures are anticipated for mid to late week as WNW
flow and weak mid-level ridging, along with very dry moisture within
the column lead to highs in the mid to upper 70s across all of South
Central Texas. By early Saturday, another cold front may work into
the region, but model guidance is not confident on the timing or
placement of this front at this time. In any matter, expect mild and
dry weather through the entire forecast period.

.AVIATION...
(18Z TAFS)
Issued at 1200 PM CST Mon Dec 8 2025

VFR flight conditions continue through the period under mostly to
completely clear skies. For I-35 terminals, north to northeast wind
under 10 knots are forecast today before becoming light and variable
overnight. Along the Rio Grande, including KDRT, light east to
southeasterly wind is expected. Southerly wind is then expected for
the entire area by Tuesday afternoon.
