KEY MESSAGES:

- High Wind Watch has been issued for all of northeast Montana.

- The next clipper system will bring a wintry mix of rain,
 freezing rain, and snow to the area on Tuesday along with strong
 west northwest winds.

- Sharply colder temperatures Tuesday night are expected with icy
 road conditions likely.

- Unsettled weather is likely to continue for the second half of
 the week.

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:

The next complex weather system looks to arrive on Tuesday with a
mix of rain, freezing rain, and snow. While highs are expected
into the 30s to 40s, ground temperatures, especially surrounded
by snow, may be cold enough to support some icing problems. This
risk may intensify Tuesday night behind the cold front when
temperatures trend sharply colder into the teens. Thus, a Winter
Weather Advisory covering difficult travel impacts from mixed
weather followed by colder temperatures could be appropriate
Tuesday into Tuesday night.

The High Wind Watch has been expanded to include all counties,
from Monday evening through Tuesday afternoon.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:

Blended HRRR for day 1 winds. Blended 50% NBM90 through day 3
(Wednesday 0Z), 30% NBM90 for day 3 night.

High confidence in high winds through Tuesday night - seeing an increasing
likelihood for gusts >60 mph (40-75% in SW Phillips, 40% in
Roosevelt). Issued High Wind Watch to match with neighbors.

DISCUSSION: Conditions will be, for the most part, VFR. Brief
periods of IFR clouds will pass through TAF sites through the
afternoon. Dry weather and light, variable winds through tonight.
