...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 415 AM EDT SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Eastern Polk County, North Carolina

* WHEN...Until 415 AM EDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Overflowing poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1010 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.7 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - Ponding and nuisance flooding is imminent in portions of Polk
    County between Green Creek and Mill Spring.  A few roadways
    that may be affected include Golf Course Road, Little
    Mountain Road, and Bill Collins Road.

    Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall have already occurred, and
    additional heavy rainfall appears poised to affect the area
    within the next 30  to 45 minutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
