Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 105 mph Path Length /statute/: 0.96 miles Path Width /maximum/: 200 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 06/09/2025 Start Time: 07:10 PM EDT Start Location: 5 SW Mount Carmel / Elbert County / GA Start Lat/Lon: 33.9733 / -82.5855 End Date: 06/09/2025 End Time: 07:11 PM EDT End Location: 4 SW Mount Carmel / McCormick County / SC End Lat/Lon: 33.9754 / -82.5689 Survey Summary: A brief tornado touched down in Bobby Brown State Park in Elbert County, downing trees across Bobby Brown State Park Road and intensifying as it crossed Ranger Road. Dozens of trees were snapped and uprooted as the tornado approached a cove along the Savannah River. Some structural damage to pavilions occurred at the Bobby Brown Recreational Center. Tree damage was observed across the river in McCormick County SC, with some uprooted trees and large limbs broken. It is unknown how far into McCormick County the tornado may have traveled due to lack of roads on US Army Corps of Engineers property.
