Cold temperatures and mostly cloudy skies prevailed across central
and eastern Kansas last night. Predawn temperatures were in the
teens and 20s with northeast winds of 5 to 15 mph.

A polar surface high pressure system will build over the central
plains today with cold below normal temperatures. Most of the
region will remain dry today, however light snow will continue to
move across Oklahoma as a upper level weather disturbance moves
slowly eastward. Daytime highs will range from the colder 20s and
30s in eastern sections of Nebraska and Kansas, to the warmer 40s
in the Nebraska panhandle and western Kansas.

Surface high pressure will drift slowly eastward towards the mid
Mississippi valley region tonight with dry weather on tap across
the Heartland. Overnight lows will be in the teens and 20s over
middle America.
