.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 237 AM CST Wed Dec 10 2025

Tonight through next Monday night: Dry northwest flow aloft will be
the primary weather influence in our area, and this will result in
seasonable temperatures as we go through the weekend. A dry cold
front passing through the area Wednesday afternoon will bring a
glancing shot of colder air that will result in freezing
temperatures Wednesday night for the northeastern quadrant of the
CWA.

There will be a brief warm-up Friday/Saturday ahead of another cold
front, then much colder temperatures will follow the frontal passage
as we go from Sunday into early next week. This front is also
expected to bring showers through the area, but rain totals will be
very low, not exceeding 0.5in. Forecast confidence for this round
of colder temperatures has increased some as more guidance points
to a significant polar high surging south through the MS Valley.
It seems the cold anomalies should be centered on Monday morning,
but dangerous cold is not expected. Look for temperatures to
rebound and rainfall chances to increase a bit as we head into
Wednesday./EC/OAJ/

.AVIATION...
(12Z TAFS)
Issued at 457 AM CST Wed Dec 10 2025

Patchy IFR/LIFR fog and ceilings are impacting portions of south
MS this morning, but they should dissipate shortly after sunrise
as mixing increases today. A dry cold front will push across the
region today, with surface winds becoming gusty areawide during
the daytime and shifting to W and NW. Wind gusts will subside by
sunset this evening. A brief period of MVFR ceilings is possible
with the passage of the front at GLH and GWO, but VFR conditions
should quickly return. Otherwise, VFR conditions will prevail.
