...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CST THIS EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...

Winds will remain fairly steady-state over the next 2-3 hours. Gusts
will likely approach 20 to 25 mph out of the west-northwest before
diminishing around 6pm CST. Temperatures will remain warm, in the
upper 70s to low 80s, until sunset. This will prolong humidity
levels in the middle to upper teens.

This evening, a frontal boundary will arrive from the north. Winds
will flip from the west to the north with slight increases in
sustained speed and gusts. Timing of this will be about 7pm CST.
Wind shift will occur at Valentine first and likely lag the fire`s
location by 60-90 minutes. Humidity recovery should be good
tonight with an immediate boost from the post-frontal airmass.
Believe humidity will surpass 50 percent by Midnight and exceed 80
percent by 4-5am CST Wednesday.

For Wednesday, believe fire weather concerns will be low given
humidity remaining above 35 percent and winds below 20 mph. Highs
will only reach the middle to upper 50s across the central
Sandhills.
