.DISCUSSION...
(This afternoon through Tuesday)

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW: A ridge of high pressure will build
northward across the Silver State this afternoon through
Thanksgiving Day. A warming trend is expected today and
Thanksgiving Day. By Thursday afternoon, high temperatures
throughout Northern and Central Nevada will be twelve to fourteen
degrees above normal for this time of year. Near record warmth is
anticipated at Eureka Thursday afternoon. The current record for
maximum temperature measured in Eureka on November 27th is 60
degrees, set in 1999. Temperature records at Eureka date back to
1963. A cold front will move southeastward into Utah Friday. The
southern extent of this cold front may clip Northeastern Nevada
Friday, resulting in a slight chance of light precipitation. This
small precipitation possibility should be confined to Northern
Elko County.

Another cold front will move southward across Eastern Nevada
Sunday. There is a slight chance of light precipitation in
Northern and Central Nevada ahead of and along this cold front
Saturday night and Sunday morning. Maximum temperatures across
Northern and Central Nevada Saturday afternoon will be six to
eight degrees colder than Friday afternoon. High temperatures
throughout Northern and Central Nevada Sunday afternoon will be a
couple of degrees below seasonal values. Minimum apparent
temperatures Sunday night will be near zero degrees in the coldest
valleys of Northern and Central Nevada. High temperatures will
return to seasonal values early next week.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS: High forecast confidence in a
warming trend today and Thanksgiving Day. Moderate forecast
confidence regarding colder weather this weekend. Low forecast
confidence in the slight possibility of light precipitation
Saturday night and Sunday morning. No changes or deviations from
the NBM model output.
