Updated at 1210 PM PST Mon Dec 8 2025 * Quiet conditions with warming temperatures return today and Tuesday * Upper level ridging looks to be the dominant weather feature Friday into next weekend. This will lead to continued dry and quiet weather && .DISCUSSION... (This evening through next Monday) WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW: The quiet weather pattern continues today as a ridge of high pressure remains stationed off the southwestern United States and out in the eastern Pacific. Northwest flow from the ridge will bring periods of mid and high level clouds through the short term with no precipitation expected. Latest model runs are depicting a slightly drier forecast period as any chances for precipitation have been curtailed by the latest model runs. Little to no rainfall accumulation is expected across the valleys of northern Elko county. Highs each afternoon will warm to well above normal levels with the warmest readings occurring during the middle to latter portions of this week. Highs will generally range in the 50s to low 60s with overnight lows in the 20s and 30s. Record to near record warmth is possible across the region. Breezy afternoon winds are expected Tuesday and Wednesday across the northern sections of Elko and Humboldt counties with wind gusts to 25 mph.
