FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
National Weather Service Marquette MI
510 AM EDT Tue Jun 18 2024

.DISCUSSION:

Following spotty showers and thunder early this morning, a brief
dry period is expected for most of today with sunny skies. Hot and
muggy conditions are expected today as well, with highs well into
the 80s to lower 90s and dewpoints peaking near the 70 degree mark
across much of the area. Though southerly winds will be on the
increase, with gusts around 20-30mph during the afternoon, plenty
of recent rainfall and an otherwise humid environment should
mitigate fire concerns. Showers and storms move into the western
UP again tonight with an approaching cold front, then on and off
chances for showers and storms continue the rest of the work week
ahead of another frontal system this weekend.
