FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN...CORRECTED
National Weather Service Marquette MI
711 AM EDT Mon Jun 23 2025

.DISCUSSION...Hot and humid conditions continue across the area
(mainly the central U.P) today. However, a cold front could bring
some showers and storms over the area today into early this evening;
while confidence in coverage is fairly low, if we do see convection
today, there is the potential for damaging winds and hail,
particularly over the central and east this afternoon to early this
evening. Don`t expect a wetting rainfall for most of the area. That
being said, some of the areas impacted by the showers and storms
could see a few tenths of an inch of liquid before the precipitation
mainly ceases behind the cold front; an few isolated spots could see
up to an inch of liquid in the heaviest downpours. Expect RHs to
still be fairly humid ahead of the cold front, and for winds to be
fairly gusty from the south/southwest too. Behind the front tonight,
expect calmer winds and cooler temperatures, with highs Tuesday only
getting into the mid 60s to 70s across the area. In addition, we
could see min RHs flirt with 30% over the interior far west Tuesday
as sfc ridging builds into the region. However, given the recent
rainfall and light winds expected, no fire weather concerns are
expected for Tuesday.
