Survey Summary:
A mature mesocyclone developed over Clarion County at roughly 5pm
on June 9th, 2025. Mid level rotation intensified as the storm
grew stronger, until eventually, a brief tornado touched down near
Bush Run Road in Waterson, PA in Clarion County. Most damage was
to hardwood trees. One tree fell on a garage, collapsing the
structure. Winds were observed in a narrow swath and trees fell in
a convergent pattern for roughly a quarter of a mile. The damage
was consistent with a brief EF0 tornado lasting only a couple of
minutes. Special thanks go out to public reports and emergency
management partners for help in identifying the damage and
conducting the survey.

This was the first tornado in Clarion County since since an EF-0
on July 11th, 2017. This is the 15th tornado on record in Clarion
County, and the 11th tornado in the Pittsburgh Forecast Area so
far in 2025.

.Corsica, PA Wind Event...

A National Weather Service survey team confirmed straight-line
wind damage with estimated speeds of 70 to 80 mph along US-322
between Corsica and Brookville in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania.
This wind was related to a downburst at approximately 6:53pm on
June 9th, 2025. Most of the damage affected hardwood trees,
however one out-building was lifted and thrown approximately 100
yards onto a roadway. The most significant damage was reported
along Haugh Hollow Road, Brown Road, and near US-322. We extend
thanks to the Emergency Managers of Jefferson and Elk Counties for
their assistance with the survey, and providing valuable
information on these locations.
