Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Pago Pago AS
205 PM SST Fri Nov 7 2025

.Short term...
TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT...A weak trough over the Islands
will hold shower activity in the area through this afternoon.
Although latest satellite loops show most of the rain associated
with the trough focused over Upolu and Savii, showers may still
develop over American Samoa as the trough remains near. However,
when the trough moves further west tonight, expect a diminishing
trend for rain.

Another trough is expected to move close to the Islands Saturday
night. This weather feature will once again bring showers late
Saturday night. Gentle east winds will persist throughout the
night.

.Long term...
SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY...The aforementioned trough will hold
numerous showers through Monday. East winds will experience a
decrease in intensity, transitioning to a light flow. This gentle
breeze will remain for the rest of the forecast period, while a
high pressure system to the south ushers stable conditions.

&&
.Marine...
Ideal ocean conditions will remain for the territory through the
new week. Wave heights observed at the PacIOOS buoys are near 5 to
7 feet, however, seas may drop to 4 to 6 feet through the new week
as winds remain light and variable. Additionally, no significant
swells are expected for the forecast period.
