The National Weather Service in Charleston has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northwestern Boyd County in northeastern Kentucky...
  Southeastern Greenup County in northeastern Kentucky...
  Southwestern Lawrence County in southeastern Ohio...

* Until 1015 AM EDT.

* At 813 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
  thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the area. Between 3.5
  and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of
  0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
  already occurring in Flatwoods and Russell in KY, and Ironton in
  OH.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy showers.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Ashland, Ironton, Coal Grove, Naples, Flatwoods, Russell,
  Raceland, Worthington, Wurtland, Bellefonte, Westwood and Hanging
  Rock.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll
free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.
