.FORECAST SUMMARY...
An Arctic cold front has ushered in very cold temperatures and
light snow. In its wake, expect blustery west-northwest winds
and frigid, well below normal temperatures. Winter weather
warnings and advisories for accumulating snow remain in effect
for the mountains of North Carolina, northward into the
mountains of far western Virginia and West Virginia. Snow
flurries may drift across the Blue Ridge and into the Piedmont
tonight. Winds increase overnight and into Tuesday, with gusts
to 45 mph possible for the higher ridges. For the remainder of
the week, it will be dry and sunny most of the week with near
normal temperatures, although it will remain gusty. The next
chance for precipitation will be with a system Sunday through
Monday night, with only rain expected.
