432 AGUS76 KRSA 131503 HMDRSA Hydrometeorological Discussion National Weather Service / California Nevada RFC / Sacramento CA 830 AM PDT Thu Jun 13 2024 ...CHANCES OF SHOWERS/T-STORMS OVER THE SIERRA CREST AND POINTS EAST INTO NV TODAY THEN PRECIP POSSIBLE OVER FAR NORTH SUNDAY INTO TUESDAY... ...COOLING INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK WITH TEMPS DOWN TO NEAR NORMAL TO 20 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL EARLY NEXT WEEK... .METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS (THU AM - WED AM)... A trough/low approaching the B.C./Pac NW coast from the Gulf of Alaska and a low off the Srn Coast this morning will move inland through Srn CA today into tonight. Drizzle/light precip with the marine layer along Central and Srn CA coast this morning. Some instability and moisture for a chance of showers and thunderstorms near the Central/Srn Sierra crest and east into NV this afternoon/evening. Max temps cool to near normal to 15 degrees above normal (warmest temps over NE CA plateau and into Nrn NV) and near to around 10 degrees below normal over the CA coast this afternoon. Upper level trough deepens along the west coast with a low along the B.C./Pac NW coast on Friday bringing cooler temps to the north and similar to warmer temps along Central Ca coast and over Srn CA and Srn NV. Max temps generally near normal to 12 degrees above normal except up to 15 degrees below normal along NW CA coast. An isolated shower/thunderstorm is possible along the Srn Sierra crest Friday afternoon/evening. Low/Trough moves onshore into B.C./Pac NW on Saturday spreading the cooler temps farther south. Max temps over Srn OR and Nrn CA cool to near normal to around 15 degrees below normal and near normal for Central Ca and Nrn NV and near normal to around 15 degrees above normal for Srn CA and into Srn NV. Trough over the western U.S. with several shortwaves moving through the Pac NW and into Nrn CA and Nrn NV Sunday into Tuesday next week. Showers possible at times over the west slope of the Srn OR Cascades and near the ORCA border and Nrn NV Sunday through Tuesday. Max temps generally drop to near normal to 15 degrees below normal for most of the region except near normal to 10 degrees above normal for SE CA and Srn NV on Sunday. High temperatures across the region drop to near normal to around 20 degrees below normal on Monday and Tuesday (coolest over NV on Tuesday). Low temps cool to generally near normal to 12 degrees below normal Monday night and remain similar to a bit warmer Tuesday night. Freezing levels generally lower to around 6000-9000 ft over the far north Sunday night into Tuesday. High pressure builds back into region towards the end of the week bringing a return of temperatures to generally near to 15 degrees above normal.
