Mount Rainier Recreational Forecast

.SYNOPSIS...Clouds will increase and a little precipitation will
reach the National Park Thursday night into Friday as a weak
frontal system moves through the area. A stronger system will move
into the region over the weekend bringing gusty winds, lowland
rain, and mountain snow. Unsettled conditions will continue into
early next week.

.IMPACTS...Strong winds in alpine regions on the mountain,
including the Muir snowfield, will make it difficult to move
safely and could produce local whiteout conditions. A high level
of skill and experience in alpine terrain, including use of GPS,
is recommended for navigation and camping in these conditions.

.WEDNESDAY NIGHT...Mostly clear. Freezing level near 12000 feet.
.THURSDAY...Sunny in the morning then becoming partly sunny.
Freezing level near 12500 feet.
.THURSDAY NIGHT...Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain and snow in
the evening, then mostly cloudy with rain and snow likely after
midnight. No snow accumulation near Paradise. Snow level near
8000 feet.
.FRIDAY...Mostly cloudy with rain and snow likely in the morning,
then mostly sunny with a chance of rain and snow in the
afternoon. Snow level near 6000 feet.
