The National Weather Service in Springfield has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southeastern Barry County in southwestern Missouri...
  Stone County in southwestern Missouri...
  Western Taney County in southwestern Missouri...

* Until 730 PM CDT.

* At 513 PM CDT, Local law enforcement reported flash flooding in
  Route J in Taney County. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have
  fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

  SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Branson, Cassville, Kimberling City, Hollister, Silver Dollar
  City, Merriam Woods, Crane, Reeds Spring, Seligman, Rockaway
  Beach, Indian Point, Branson West, Galena, Washburn, Shell Knob,
  Bull Creek, Mccord Bend, Golden, Table Rock, Emerald Beach,
  Kirbyville, Eagle Rock, Blue Eye, Chain-O-Lakes, Arrow Point,
  Coney Island, Cape Fair, Lampe, Jenkins, Elsey, Wheelerville,
  Ridgedale, Walnut Shade, Edgewater Beach, Ozark Beach, Table Rock
  Lake, Lake Taneycomo, Bull Shoals Lake, Table Rock State Park and
  Shepherd of the Hills State Park.

This includes the following low water crossings...
  Bear Creek at Reno Springs Road, Rockhouse Creek at Farm Road
  2145, Greasy Creek at Farm Road 2290, Roark Creek at Expressway
  Lane and Trigger Creek at Highway J.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
