.SHORT TERM...
(Tonight through Thursday)
Issued at 1137 AM CST Wed Nov 26 2025

Cooler and slightly below normal temperatures are expected to
persist through this evening and into Thanksgiving morning in the
wake of a cold front tracking through the region today. Overnight
lows are expected to fall into the mid to upper 30s, with some of
the usual low-lying areas and northern portions of the Big Country
seeing the coolest overnight lows tonight. Afternoon high
temperatures tomorrow will struggle to make it into the upper 50s
to mid 60s, which gets us closer to normal high temperatures for
this time of year (mid 60s). Winds are expected to be light and
easterly this evening and gradually shifting to the south to
southeast by Thursday morning.

.LONG TERM...
(Friday through Wednesday)
Issued at 1220 AM CST Thu Nov 27 2025

Low-level moisture will increase over our area Friday with
strengthening return flow. Breezy south winds and mostly cloudy
skies are expected, with afternoon highs mostly in the lower 60s.
Isolated to scattered showers are possible, mainly Friday afternoon
and Friday night in association with a weak upper shortwave moving
through the area. A few thunderstorms will be possible Friday
evening and Friday night in some of our eastern counties with an
increase in instability. An upper trough will move southeast across
the northern and central Plains into the Midwest on Saturday, and
associated cold front will advance south across our area during the
afternoon and evening. Depending on the specific timing with this
front, it could curtail highs to the mid 60s to near 70 in some of
our northern counties. Our central and southern counties should have
highs in the lower to mid 70s, with south to southwest winds ahead
of the front and partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies.

Gusty north winds can be expected Saturday night in the wake of the
cold frontal passage. Temperatures will drop into the upper 20s to
lower 30s by daybreak Sunday. Brisk northeast winds will make for a
cold Sunday morning. The colder airmass will settle in for Sunday
into the first part of the week. Temperatures should be confined to
the lower to mid 40s for highs in most of our area Sunday, with a
few upper 40s in our far southern counties. Lows Sunday night are
expected to range from the mid 20s to lower 30s. Models continue to
trend drier for early next week, and now only have a slight chance
(20 percent) for light rain showers in eastern portions of San Saba
and Mason Counties Monday morning. Another upper trough is forecast
to drop southeast into the southern Plains on Monday, pushing a cold
front south across our area late Monday afternoon into early Monday
night. Monday night looks cold with temperatures dropping into the
20s for lows, and accompanied by somewhat breezy north winds.

Temperatures will remain cool and below normal Tuesday with highs in
the lower to mid 50s. Wednesday looks warmer with a return of
southerly winds and highs in the lower to mid 60s.
