Brought mention of showers and isolated thunder in Brown county this afternoon per latest radar. Showers and thunderstorms in eastern zones should be well east by this evening. Northeast winds behind cold fronts will weaken quickly this evening, becoming light and variable. Clear skies and light wind will allow extra radiational cooling so brought most areas down to the upper 30s to lower 40s...close to the GFS MOS and 25 percent NBM temperatures. Temperatures on Sunday rebound into highs the lower to mid 70s with return of south winds of 5 to 10 mph. && .LONG TERM... After the trough today passes the area, weak upper level ridging and then zonal flow aloft will prevail through next weekend. Temperatures will climb through Wednesday and may approach the 90 degree mark. Record high in Abilene for Wednesday is 90 (2007) and San Angelo 91 (also 2007), with the statistical data showing a low to medium chance of reaching or breaking those records (20-40%).
