270 FXUS63 KUNR 012006 AFDUNR Area Forecast Discussion For Western SD and Northeastern WY National Weather Service Rapid City SD 206 PM MDT Sat Nov 1 2025 .KEY MESSAGES... - Mild and dry throughout the upcoming week. - Next potential system by next weekend. && .DISCUSSION...(This Evening Through Saturday) Issued at 148 PM MDT Sat Nov 1 2025 Highly amplified pattern with a large area of low pressure sitting across the central plains and a ridge axis encompassing much of the western CONUS remains the focal point regarding the observational weather expected across western South Dakota and eastern Wyoming for the upcoming week. High cirrus are spilling over the ridge axis allowing for temperatures to no rebound as much today with temperatures holding into the upper 40s to low 50s across the region. Embedded in this upper level flow are weak shortwaves that will push weak fronts through the region with several fronts progged to push through the area over the next 5 days. The first arrives tomorrow and this will be a fast moving, dry front that will bring slightly cooler temperatures but noticeably stronger northerly winds to portions of northwestern South Dakota. This area will need to be watched for the possibility of Wind Advisory issuance. The next front will follow suit and come through Tuesday and bring slightly cooler temperatures and breezy conditions.
