.KEY MESSAGES...

* Expect dry, mild, and warm weather for Thanksgiving and Black
  Friday.

* A pattern shift will bring cooler temperatures to the region over
  the weekend.

.DISCUSSION...through Wednesday.

Current infrared and water vapor satellite imagery shows ridging
over southern Nevada, southeastern California, and northwestern
Arizona with a weak disturbance off the coast of southern
California. This ridge is responsible for the dry and warm weather
of the past few days, which will continue through Friday. Cloud
cover will increase across the region as the aforementioned
disturbance off the coast of southern California weakens and drifts
through the Southwestern US. These clouds will be the only noticable
impact from this disturbance drifting overhead, with cloud cover
decreasing on Friday.

Temperatures will cool down over the weekend, decreasing around 5 to
10 degrees from Friday to Sunday with additional cooling expected
early next week. This weekend cooldown is a result of a shortwave
rolling through the Northwestern US, which will knock down 500 mb
heights over our forecast area. Given the dry inland track of this
system, precipitation chances are limited to the panhandle of
Lincoln County where there is around a 20% chance of precipitation.
As this shortwave ejects into the Plains, we will find ourselves
under northwesterly flow aloft. This northwesterly flow will leave
the door open for additional systems to drop into the area early
next week, which will result in additional cooling and the potential
for some breezier winds.

.AVIATION...For Harry Reid...For the 06Z Forecast
Package...Light winds under 8KT favoring typical wind directions are
expected through the period. Southwest winds overnight will become
northeast Thursday afternoon but speeds will be only about 5KT.
Winds will become southwest again under 8KT Thursday evening and
overnight. VFR conditions are expected through the period with
increasing SCT-BKN clouds at or above 20kft.

For the rest of southern Nevada, northwest Arizona and southeast
California...For the 06Z Forecast Package...Gusts  will continue
around KIFP through the night, but the rest of the Colorado River
Valley should not see any more gusts tonight. North to northeast
winds will return for Thursday morning and afternoon in  the
Colorado River Valley but should be lower than today`s winds.
Elsewhere, winds will be light and follow typical daytime and
nighttime directional patterns.SCT-BKN clouds around 20kft will
continue to spread across the region tonight and Thursday, but
overall VFR conditions are expected.
